Dear Station Master Comrades,.

The response of our comrades TO BE ALIVE AND ACTIVE seems to be wanting/ waning. You and I need not run in circle to fathom out the reasons. In the first place THEY ARE EXTREMELY STRESSED OUT even as conceded by TOP (above) BOARD HEIRARCHY of Rail Bhavan. 

Secondly Day after day they (I mean the SMs, not the Rail Bhavan wallas!) are saddled with new gadgets in their work place (that is their STATIONs) in the name of TECHNOLOGY UPGRADING OR YOU MAY CALL IT CATHING UP with the technology. 

Recently I had a chance to visit a typical ‘IMS’ (intermediate station) station in MYS division situated in the saturated SBC-UBL main line section (by the by, do you really understand when I use the word main line since we are addicted to the usage of main line even though we are not really sure WHAT WE ACTUALLY MEAN by main line?). The utility of the section SBC-ASK-UBL with regard to ‘LINE CAPACITY’ is 128 % according to the current WTT in vogue. 

For you and me that can (that is 128% utility factor) only summon-up the FACT THAT EVERY BODY INVOLVED IN THE TRAIN OPERATION there are benefited while your additional INCOME IS >> ADDITIONAL SF 11s if you are in good books with the bossy TOM, sorry DOM (Much regarded Com. Ramani!-do you hear me-but for you we might not have come to know about these TOMS, T(D)ICS and the HA(i)RRYS in Indian Railways), otherwise SF 5s.

Coming back to the saturated station that I mentioned earlier,I was bewildered by the sight!  Thank God, one Good Samaritan got me out LBW before SMs’ offices/rooms were poisoned with these ‘Avatar/ENTHIRAN (the ROBOT) style wires’ and gauges. Frankly speaking I have never seen PMO’s office or the office of the Supreme Commander of Indian Military. I challenge you! You may not find even there so many  wires/gauges/gadgets/phones that I saw at the way side station. Alas! Time to sign off without any mileage!!

 But at this juncture, invariably I am at compulsions to recall the thought provoking and magnificent letter of most revered Shri.J.L.Arora, Director Safety-1 and his letter No.2004/Safety-I/28/I Pt Dated 16.04.2009 before I sign off.“These suggestions (meaning the recommendations the Railway Board had received from COMs of Indian Railways) are varying from increase in salary, more allowances to more facilities at work place and for family. 

 While suggestions related to increased salary, higher grade pay, allowance etc may be looked into by next Pay commission, most of other suggestions to provide tangible benefits to ASM category by providing them less stressful environment at work place and better facilities for the family members can be examined and implemented by the Zonal.”

 Comrades, Are you really sleeping or acting as if asleep? AWAKE. ARISE. INTERACT WITH aisma.in.  & Station Masters India Group. Be mentally present at our hunger fast at NDLS on 02.3.2011 and accordingly- otherwise you may have to wait till next ‘pay’ (c) om (m) ission!!
