INSTALLING UTS AT WAY SIDE STATIONS – REPRESENTATIONS SUBMITTED
A team of office bearers of AISMA/PGT submitted representation to DRM, Sr.DOM, Sr.DCM & others regarding the hasty implementation of UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) at way side stations without providing adequate staff / infrastructure. We have demanded:
1. To post commercial clerks / additional SMs at all stations round the clock for effective implementation of the system.
2. To provide proper training to all SMs in all aspects of UTS.
3. In case the SMs at such stations are insisted to operate the UTS, the same will be done only to the limited extent of (1) issuing originating tickets from the concerned station; (2) issuing tickets at the timings stipulated at present at such stations – i.e., generally one hour before the arrival of the train.
4. No sign boards / notices shall be exhibited at stations where SMs are forced to work UTS, to the effect that the counter will be functional for 24 hours or that ‘any train – any ticket’ will be issued - as the same cannot be done.
5. Installing UTS in the first phase shall be done at stations where there is less operational work load and more commercial work.
6. Any further extension of the scope of UTS at IMS shall be resorted to only after providing the required staff and infrastructure.
