Shri. VINAY MITTAL  on Thursday (30.06.2011) took over as the new Chairman, Railway Board and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Railways.

He replaces Vivek Sahai who superannuated 30.06.2011 from this post. Prior to this, Shri. Mittal was serving as General Manager, South Eastern Railway since January 12, 2011.

Mittal is an officer of Indian Railway Traffic Service (1975 batch). He has worked in various capacities all over the Indian Railways and has acquired vast and varied experience in the field of Railway Administration in his distinguished career.

He has worked as the General Manager of North Western Railway, Addl. General Manager, Central Railway, Divisional Railway Manager-Bilaspur, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager, Chief Freight Transportation Manager, Chief Commercial Manager and Chief Operations Manager of Central Railway and Executive Director, Traffic Transportation (Movement) in Railway Board.

This Association  conveys its Best Wishes and  Co-operation for the betterment of the System  INDIAN RAILWAYS as well for the betterment of its valuable Asset, the employees and the STATION MASTERS.
