3 killed as express train rams another

LUCKNOW: Three people were killed and 14 injured when the Kanpur-bound Kalindi Express rammed the stationary Delhi-Kanpur Shram Shakti Express from behind near the Tundla junction in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

The guard cabin of the Shram Shakti Express, an unreserved compartment, and a compartment reserved for disabled persons were damaged in the accident, which occurred at around 8.15 a.m. on Saturday.

Dense fog

The accident has been attributed to dense fog. The deceased, two women and a child, were in the Shram Shakti Express. According to Firozabad district officials, the injured were admitted to the Railway Hospital in Tundla. Four seriously injured persons were referred to the Agra Medical College. The driver of the Kalindi Express was among the injured.

It is obvious that the train rammed behind the stationary train at a station. This must be due to the non-observance of rule 3.38 -setting of points against occupied line. We should educate the importance of this rule to all so that SMs will not be trapped for the carelessness of the drivers.

There is no mention of Guard, Whether he is alive or not, If alive what was he doing in that case ?
