Proceedings of General body meeting of Chennai Central Branch

held on 07/12/11 at AMBATTUR

Meeting commenced at 1300 hrs with one minute silent prayer and meeting was presided by senior Com. H.Ravindran SM/MSB. President gave his address and insisted that MAS & MS branches are the backbone of CHENNAI DIVISION. He told that he is happy in presiding the GB meeting of this branch as he was once the Executive of this prestigious branch. Later he invited Com. John Vincent, SG/AISMA to occupy the dais. He thanked SG for attending and gracing this meeting inspite of his tight schedule.

He called for the reports of BS & BSF. Audited Report was submitted by BSF for the period of 2009 & 2010 to the tune of Rs.1,25,112.00. BS was not present due to unavoidable and inevitable circumstances and he assured that he shall give his written report in next meeting as directed by president.

Com. R.Vijayakumar, SM/PTMS raised a doubt on expenditure over income in the report of BSF & Ii was clarified by BSF that he has paid from his pocket as advance. To avoid such happenings in future, members of this branch should contribute liberally and support the branch in fulfilling the quota of the division timely. Report of BSF was passed after detailed discussion over it and President directed BSF to submit a supplementary statement for the period 2011 afresh.

Next agenda of the meeting was ELECTION of new body and the following members were elected as MAS branch executives for the year 2012:-

President                : Com. V.K.SAMPATH    SM/ABU    (9042251048)

Secretary                : Com. M.POOVANNAN  SM/BBQ    (9444921164)

Secretary (Finance): Com. A.GOUTHAMAN  SM/MAS    (8754504993)

Post of BSF was not elected and President directed the present BSF Com. A.GOUTHAMAN, SM/MAS to continue till replacement is found for the post.

Com. V.K.Sampath, BP/MAS branch took over charge and thanked the house for electing the new body and assured the house that this team will deliver goods with the co-operation of members of the branch. He requested Com. John Vincent, SG, to address the House and to touch upon the latest developments at Central level for the sake of youngsters who attended the meeting.

SG during his address touched about the various demands and the present status of the conciliation. He mentioned about his recent visit to Railway Board last month and told that most of our demands are in our favour. He had met many MPs and explained about the demands of SMs to raise the same in Parliament. He insisted for the strong & continuous support from all corners of INDIA for achieving the demands. He also insisted that branches are the root of our organisation and it should be strong enough so that AISMA tree can fetch delicious fruits to its members. Being member of this branch I wish the new body all success during their tenure and with these words he concluded his inspiring speech.

President invited Com. M.Poovannan, BS/MAS to address. In his address BS assured that the new body will function upto the expectation of the members, division and will carryout all directions with the co-operation of the branch members.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Com. R.Vjayakumar, SM/PTMS.

 

Resolutions:

  • This house demands that Vacancies to be filled up including the anticipatory vacancies.
  • This house demands to expedite the posting of additional SMs at VPY, AVD, TRL, KBT and TO
  • This house demands to include in SWR the duties of additional SMs wherever posted
  • This house demands to solve the water problem permanently at VPY & PRES.
