My Dear General Secretaries, the Action Committee Members and Evergreen Committed Activists,

Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans. Commit yourself for the betterment of the SMs, as  well that of  Yours. One seed of revolution will lead to thousands of seeds of revolutions. Every STATION MASTER must sow one seed of REVOLUTION.  Some of us have to even sacrifice a lot to ensure benefit for the future generations.

The “SMs for IAS”- the mother of all battles, is getting delayed due to technical compliances. As per the mandatory provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act 1947 and Trade Union Provisions we have to abide by the set guidelines. In the Conciliatory proceedings held in the forenoon of 26th Sept., 2011, the Railway Administration has sought some more time to concede our Demands and allowed us to pursue the progress.

The Emergency CEC meeting, in the sunset of 26.09.2011, decided a chain of actions to keep up the momentum. We have to keep the cadre   in toes to meet any eventuality in short notice; this is due to our experience and lessons learnt from our past.

Following were the chain of actions approved by the CEC for sensitizing the issues further:

1.    Hand-written POSTER CAMPAIGN from 4th Oct to 8th Oct 2011:
Besides Central demands, local issues may also be added. The travelling public as well as the co-employees must be well informed through the posters on our plight and programmes.

2.    POST CARD CAMPAIGN  to the Minster of Railways from 11th Oct to 15th Oct 2011:

To,

Shri.  Dinesh Trivedi
Hon’ble Minister for Railways
4, Lodhi Estate,
New Delhi-110 003

Sir, Kindly accord minimum Grade Pay of Rs.4600 at the earliest to achieve Railway’s goal of Safety and Efficiency in Train operations, as well as to attract best talent to this important category of STATION MASTERS.

Sig:
Name:
Stn & Dvn:

(The post card campaign was modified, i.e. the addressee from Minister for Finance to Minister for Railways, since the proposal is still pending with the Ministry of Railways. The Postcard content may please be translated in Hindi)

3.    MEET THE MPs:
All the Divisions to meet at least 4 MPs and appraise the plight and problems of the cadre and insist them to  pursue the same through CRB or MR. A due feedback to be given by all DSs to SG, with the details of the MP’s name, and his acceptance.

4.    DEMONSTRATION in 4 Metro Cities on 19th Oct 2011:

CHENNAI (SR, SCR and SWR) In-charge - R. BALASUBRAMANIAN COS, Johnson Dy.SG and GS/SR.
DELHI (NR, NCR, WCR, NER and NWR) In-charge -   M.P.Mishra CP , R.N.Chaturvedi  Jt.SG and GS/NR.
KOLKATA (ER, NFR, SER, ECR and ECoR) In-charge - J.S Shinde CVP, Manoj Nair CSF and GS/ER.
MUMBAI (CR, WR and SECR) In-charge - P.K.Das Ex CP, Com SUBHASH AVASTHI CVP and Chairman- Action Committee/CR.

5.    Black  Deepavali on 26th Oct 2011:
WEARING BLACK BADGES or Bands while on Duty. The General Secretaries / Divisional Secretaries to supply the Badges/Bands to Stations.

Deepawali is a festival of lights symbolizing the victory of righteousness and the lifting of darkness. Both, Victory and Light, is being belayed to this cadre. Symbolically, let’s show our protest by projecting the colour Black.   We are sure to celebrate this festival shortly, with its real spirit and enthusiasm. But till then keep off all the colours and use Black.

The General Secretaries of SR,NR,ER and CR are to coordinate with the  General  Secretaries concerned and  share the  cost of the  programme which includes - Publication materials such as Posters, Pamphlets, Shelter, Public Address system, Water etc.

The host General Secretaries have to keep in constant touch and fix up programme for inviting MPs for this  programme with concerned General Secretaries and CEC Observers. The Memorandum to be submitted to the concerned General Managers will be dispatched by  COS. Extensive exposure,  in both, Print and Visual media, is mandatory.

Since, the time span is very short, the posters and pamphlets will have to be printed by the host General Secretaries and dispatch to the concerned Zones / Divisions before 5th Oct.2011. Specimen pamphlets will be sent to the GS shortly for their assistance and printing.

Be committed and make the programmes a Success. The time seems to be very short, but for the committed, it is more than enough. Be a committed AISMAN.

Our Commitment is highly valuable.  Commitment has a great impact on the successful performance. This is because highly committed members will identify themselves with the goals and values of the organisation; committed members are regarded as our Associations’ competitive advantage.

There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you do it only when it is convenient; But When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results. Yes,   our commitment is to WIN our 5 demands.  WE WILL.

With Regards and Greetings,

Secretary General
