Our Immediate Duty
- by Com. T. Vijayakumar, Ex. SG/AISMA (Cell: 094450 51031)
Our Association is built on the strength of the sincere and honest members of the cadre of Station Managers, Station Masters, Traffic Apprentices and Traffic Inspectors. A lot of our cadre members are working in so many ex-cadre posts also. It is a truly All India Association which is built upon friendship and brotherhood. We have only one goal. That is the overall welfare of our Cadre. Nothing more! Nothing less! Therefore the SMs working from Baramulla and Budgam in the North to Kannyakumari in the South and from Naliya in the West to Ledo in the East are not isolated. On the other hand we must prove that we are the ones with a unique voice.
There are 17 Zones and 68 Divisions on the Indian Railways. Our foremost duty is to see that our Association has Zonal and Divisional Committees functioning in all these areas very well in a disciplined manner. The Central Committee is the main tree. Its branches are the Zonal and Divisional Committees. But the most important are the roots. Do you know who the roots are? They are the ordinary branch members. Our Association cannot live, stand and grow without roots. Your All India President Shri. R.S.K. Sharma and the All India Secretary General John Vincent are taking every effort to make you eligible for the best pay scales and allowances considering the pivotal role of you in Traffic Movement and on the Railways as a whole. What is required is your sincerity and support.
