Recently when after the passage of an engine as a Pilot to the scceeding train, a road vehicle got entangled at an LC. As there was an interval of about thirty minutes between the Pilot engine and the train it was quite natural to open the LC. But the chief controller was objecting to opening the LC in between the Pilot Engien and the Train. (Alas! but he never bothered to receive the Pilot Engine and  the concerned train on different running lines at the next stopping station). Even if the train closely trails, there would have been a minimum interval of about fifteen to twenty minutes. And one cannot expect to keep the LCs closed all these time especially at busy Roads and across NH/SHs considering the overall detention to road traffic.  Aso no safety element is involved as the GK is there to oversee any untoward situation and warn the LP.  On the other hand we do not have any specific instructions/ regulations on running of such PILOTS. Anybody having any piece information may please enlighten us in this regard.

Thank you.
