This was found in station Masters page in FB posted by one of our comrades. I never heard any such thing in my service. com.COS tells this came for discussion in one of our(AISMA/TPJ) DEC meets. Wonder why then there was no followup or enlightening the cadre was done by seniors?
PROCEDURE TO BE ADOPTED UNDER RULE NO. 1420(2) OF INDIAN RAILWAY ESTABLISHMENT CODE VOLUME 2 IN CONNECTION WITH CLAIMING OF DAILY ALLOWANCE FOR S&T FAILURES.
1. Adhere to rule no 3.68,3.69,3.70 of GRS which includes issuing of failure message to Signal Inspector.
2. After restoration, give all concerned message as per Accident Manual (M Class accident).
3. Claiming of TA in normal travelling allowance sheet as per the wage period duly showing date, Type of signal failure in the place of object of journey, Accident message number with date, and with note at the bottom stating that claimed wide RULE NO. 1420(2) OF INDIAN RAILWAY ESTABLISHMENT CODE VOLUME 2.
This procedure is followed in Guduvanchery station in Chennai Division and they got TA for S&T failures.
So comrades please practice the above procedure in your station also and make use of the rule provision.
